Today I want you to create your own examples of the poetry elements (5) from our class discussion. Using the graphic organizers made in class, write the term followed by an original sentence that uses the element.

While reading these stanzas you will be focusing on using context clues to help you with unknown words.

• Context Clues: Using the rest of the sentence and story to help you discover the meaning to an unknown word.

Choose and unknown word from both stanza 8 and 9. Write the following for each word.

3. Create your own definition based upon what is happening in the sentence and the story.
