The stanza is about a guy reading his book and he hears a tapping. He is not sure who it is but he has an idea that it is a visitor. He is going to see who it is. I predict that it is going to be a raven.
He was in his room and heard a tapping. He was laying reading a book. Then there was a tapping on his chamber door. He thinks its a visitor at his door. i think its a friend.
